Santorini stole my heart ! For me was the first time in this romantic greek island, a short break of 3 nights that were unforgettable.
I was invited by

White Perl Villas to stay in Oia, around 30 minutes away for the airport of the capital Thira.

Oia is an astonishing city, it is characterized by a single great road that runs through the whole length of the country.
At the edge of the cliff you will find two picturesque stairways, from which you can reach the two bays of Ammouda and Armenia and, across another rocky path, the marina of Armenaki.

Small and simple as the name for one of Santorini’s favorite place, which is said to offer the best sunset of all the islands of Greece and of the world.
The main street of Oia is a unique way of tourists, especially when cruise ships sail into the pier down the cliff.
If local residents and merchants are aware of it, they suddenly see crowds of shops and restaurants.
Make sure you have a table in one of the many coffee on the edge of the cliff before sunset (one of those things to do at least once in life).

In the town you can visit the church of Panagia di Platsani, the ruins of a Venetian castle, the classic windmills of the Cycladic islands. The central square, Nicolaou Nomikou, is not in the center of the city, but a bit further towards its eastern side (often referred to as the ideal place to take photographs).
Do not miss the visit to the Maritime Naval Museum of Oia, which tells the naval and naval history of this island .

and following MY TIPS :

Santorini is perfect for a romantic stay, a lot of people choose the island for honeymoon and if you want to be relaxed. It is not for you if you are looking for busy life, nightclubs or so much chaos.

Bring with you comfortable shoes, there is plenty to walk, there are so many steps to reach the beaches, you have to be ready !
Obviously so many swimsuits, a hat and light clothing.
Being an island is always very windy, but a light breeze is not annoying.

*** Enjoy the Sunset ***
I never seen a sunset as in Oia, really , I was so impressed , the lights there are unique.

*** Admire the architechture ***
The traditional architechture of Santorini is similar to that of the other island in the Cyclades, with its cubic white-washed houses and blue domed churches.
Set against the backdrop of the volcanic cliffs, on which they are perched, almost as if stacked on the top of each other, they are uniquely appealing.
Oia is typically example and now a lot of old houses have been converted into modern and very luxurious hotel , immagine that the 60% of each room has its private swimming pool, a dream, as the Villa where I stay.

*** Take a boat trip to the Volcano ***

There are several companies that offer boat trips and really not expensive.
Some romantic time maybe to reach the island of Nea Kameni, you can visit the active craters.
In a couple of hours you live a fantastic experience and see the magic island of Santorini from another view, from the sea, as well as get a close-up view of the volcano.

*** Sunbathing and Swimming of course ***
you know I am not a fan of sun, but love to stay in water and relax.
A special beach, is the one called red beach, unique and incredible,
Don’t think to find white beaches, as told before, Santorini is a volcanic island, and the most of the beaches are dark or black.

*** Walking and Hiking ***
If you like to walk, Santorini is your destination.
On foot you can see a lot, but keep in mind that the roads are quite steep.
You can also use donkeys, I had a lot of fun, I liked losing in the tiny streets and then finding stunning landscapes

*** Try the local food and wine ***
It was perfect to eat in Santorini, because every restaurant has a special view with a incredible atmosphere.
There are a lot of choises, restaurants and taverna, with a well local specialities, fresh fish dishes, cheese, the white eggplants.
I suggest you to try eat at Ochre Restaurant, one of the stunning location ever seen, perfect with its outdoor terrace for a sunset view and it offers a gourmet menu and an excellent wine list.

*** Stay in a luxury hotel or Villa ***

My trip to Santorini was magical and stunning thanks to the luxury accomodation and the treatment received at the White Pearl Villas, in Oia.
A complete villa for us with our indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis and pools, the most romantic place to be with a breathtaking views of Caldera, the volcano of the Aegean.
The privacy of this ambiance made us forget all the stress, an unforgettable experience, a 30 square meter villas build inside the natural cavities of the volcanic rocks, with all the comforts and luxury services you expect, cannot ask for more.
